Al Bassa

Al-Bassa was a Palestinian Arab village inhibited by 2950 Christians and Muslims. It stood on the slopes of a rocky hill facing the Mediterranean coast on the Acre-Beirut coastal road, 19 Km north of the district capital Acre. The village was stormed by the Haganah troops in 1948 and almost completely erased. Its residents were either internally displaced to Mazra’a, Mi’ilia and Acre or expelled to Dbayeh refugee camp in Lebanon.
